Earn your screen!
A private family app where kids earn screen time by completing chores, homework, and routines. Parents stay in control of how it's spent.
Invite-only. Currently in private beta.
Parents create daily tasks like "Make bed," "Finish homework," or "Practice piano." Each task has a screen-time reward in minutes.
As tasks are completed, kids earn screen-time minutes that go into their balance. Streaks and badges reward consistency.
Kids use earned minutes for screens — or trade them for real-world rewards in the family Reward Store.
Earn Screen Time is a private, non-commercial application used only by members of registered households. There is no public marketplace, no advertising, and no data sold. A parent or household administrator creates the family account; kids and other parents are added by that administrator.
The app is currently invite-only. To get an invite, please contact the administrator who told you about it.
Earn Screen Time sends optional SMS notifications to family members so they don't need to keep the app open. Notifications include task reminders, screen-time balance alerts, daily summaries, and parent approval requests.
The household administrator adds family-member phone numbers manually through a password-protected parent settings page within the application, after obtaining verbal consent in person from each family member. Each family member is informed of the types of messages they will receive and the opt-out process before their number is added. SMS is fully optional — the app works without it.
Before a family member's phone number is entered into the application, the household administrator (parent) reads the following script in person to that family member and obtains their explicit verbal agreement:
"I'm adding your phone number to our family's Earn Screen Time app. By agreeing, you'll get text messages from us about:
Messages will come from a U.S. toll-free number. Frequency depends on app activity — typically 5–15 messages per day. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
You can stop messages anytime by replying STOP to any message. You can text HELP for assistance. Replying START will resume messages.
Do you agree to receive these text messages?"
Parent: "Hey, I'm setting up Earn Screen Time and want to add your phone number so you get text reminders for your tasks, screen-time alerts, and the daily summary. Messages come from a U.S. toll-free number, usually 5–15 per day depending on activity. Standard message rates may apply. You can stop anytime by texting STOP, or text HELP for help. Are you OK with that?"
Family member: "Yes, that's fine."
Parent: "Great. I'll add your number now. You'll get a welcome text confirming you're signed up. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe."
Documentation: Within the parent settings page, the administrator must check a box labeled "I have obtained verbal consent from this person to receive SMS messages" before saving a phone number. The application records the timestamp of that confirmation. A welcome SMS is then automatically sent to the new number, allowing the recipient to immediately reply STOP if they change their mind.
